If Harry Potter were to use his magic to clone himself, and start a kick ass band, this is the band they would have. If Harry and his clone (one being Harry Potter year four, the other being Harry Potter year seven) wrote about their high school experiences, this band would be it. Every time Harry (or his clone); get his (or their) heart broken, like in the song “The Human Hosepipe,” there is a song to be written. And they did just that.

Harry and the Potters may not be the typical type of band that most musicians would take seriously. A ‘fun’ or ‘joke’ band as some would call them they very well may be, but these boys know their spells. And they certainly will cast them on you. Hogwarts may be a school for witchcraft and wizardry, but it’s more like ‘Hogwarts, school of rock! These are not some silly boys writing silly songs about silly books. These are boys that know how to play in 6/8 time, boys who know cord progressions, boys other than Panic! at the Disco, who know how to take great books, and write catchy lyrics to them. If you are familiar with Harry Potter 1-6 (or the movies 1-4) you will see references to all the books/movies. References to characters and situations that have happened. In the song “These Dreams are Dark” the Harry’s sing “We’ve got Sirius Black and he’s pretty serious now that the dark lord’s back.” No one can escape the grip of Harry and the Potters once they cast their wicked spell of rock and roll on you, you can not escape.

If one is a fan of the Harry Potter saga, then you will love this band. If you are not a fan of Harry potters, you will love this band. Move over ‘punk,’ emo,’ ‘screamo,” ‘hardcore’, thrash and; metal,’ because a new genre is in town. It’s wizard rock baby. Haters beware, Voldemort couldn’t even stop this rock.
