Sara: For the record state your name and what you do in Cute Is What We Aim For
Jeff: I’m Jeff and I play guitar
Fred: I’m Fred and I play bass.

Sara: What would you change about the current music scene?
Jeff: Probably all the shit talking. Definitely.
Fred: I’d change the image
Sara: Like how? What do you mean?
Fred: Right now there are a lot of bands that are only popular because there is a good looking guy in the band.

Sara: In a year and half, that’s about how long Cute Is What We Aim For has been around you managed to get signed by Fueled By Ramen, play Bamboozle, and release your debut CD. What’s it like to have all of this happen so fast?
Jeff: It’s weird, it’s definitely something new. We never expected to be where we are at now like a year and half ago.
Fred: [player cuts out] having a good time.

Sara: When do you think a band makes it?
Fred: I was told a band makes it when they are on the cover of Rolling Stone.
Sara: Is that from Almost Famous?
Fred: I don’t know actually, I haven’t seen that movie in a while.
Jeff: Making it…hmmm. I don’t know actually, that’s a hard question.

Sara: So Fueled By Ramen has been having a lot of success with their bands recently, do you think that some of that success is contributing to your success?
Jeff: Definitely.
Fred: Yeah definitely people are going to Panic! At The Disco and Fall Out Boy shows, they see the name and the name sticks outs so.

Sara: The Internet really helped you guys, it’s like why you guys are-
Jeff: Oh definitely with out a doubt.
Sara: So how has it hurt you?
Jeff: Just like I said all the shit talking and the drama that goes on the Internet but I don’t know, any press is good press. I don’t know if we really have been hurt.

Sara: What’s the most important thing a band can give to the fans besides music?
Fred: Communication.
Jeff: Yeah, definitely

Sara: Some fans they travel from state to state to see you guys or follow you what’s that like?
Jeff: It’s really flattering.
Fred: That’s weird. It’s weird to think that people like us that much that they would spend all that money and time.
Sara: So is it like stalkerish or anything?
Jeff: It’s not really stalkerish. I’ve always wanted to do that to a band like follow them on tour.
Sara: Yeah I want to follow a band.

Sara: What do you miss most about your hometown when you are on tour?
Fred: Friends and family.
Jeff: Sitting around doing nothing.

Sara: What was it like making your music video “There’s A Class For This”
Jeff: It was just really tiring but a lot of fun. Like there was this one day when we had to wake up at 5 and we worked until like 4 in the morning. It was a lot of fun.

Sara: Why did you decide to form Cute Is What We Aim For?
Jeff: Shaant and I were in another band a while ago and Tom and Fred were in a band and Shaant quit our old band to join another band and I was kinda skeptical at first like ‘Oh I don’t know’ but because I knew Shaant it was like okay I’ll give it shot and Shaant and Fred went to high school together.

Sara: What do you hope to accomplish when it’s time to call it quit?
Jeff: Just reaching as many people as we can.

Sara: Name one reason why you decided to play music as a career.
Jeff: It’s just something I’ve always loved
Fred: It’s just something I was good at.

Sara: So if you meet a magic genie on the street what would be your three wishes?
Jeff: My three wishes…you go first
Fred: I would wish to be happy for the rest of my life.
Jeff: Yeah

Sara: What superpower would you like?
Jeff: I’d like to be invisible.
Sara: Why?
Jeff: Someone should do it. Actually no I would stop time.
Fred: Yeah.

Sara: What’s the best joke you’ve heard?
Jeff: Fucking… a horse walks into a bar and the bartender says “Why the long the face?”. That’s definitely the best joke.

Sara: Do you have anything to say to the World Wide Web?
Fred: Thank you for reading this interview.
Jeff: Yeah. Thank you
